What to Wear: 4th of July

I'm a young mom. 27.

Motherhood brings all sorts of new aspects to getting dressed for the day.

After two children... I am left weighing the same, almost the same but with a whole new body. The scale isn't really all that different but my body.... so different. My hips are wider. My boobs are smaller. My hair is thicker. My skin is paler. My make-up is barely there. My hair is always up.

Has anything not changed?

I need comfort. I need stain-free (does that exist). I need easy to wear. I need coverage.

I want cute. I want to be in style. I want to feel confident.

I struggle with being 27 and still wanting to appear 27, not 55. But also look like a mom. I don't want to be mistaken as the babysitter.

The 4th of July is here and I have three outfits I have tried out this week that have been successful in fitting all those requirements for my life. I like festive for Holidays! So prepare youself for red, white, and blue.

Outfit 1:
My top is a Piko top from Kiki La Rue. Bubble necklace was from Very Jane, I think. Lenin pants (not pictured are from Old Navy... see below.
I tried to recreate it on Polyvore. Changed it up by doing a blue Piko and red bubble.. same white pants.

4th of July

I wore this to church. It is perfect for a dinner out or even a cookout if you don't live in 100 degree weather and humidity! Piko tops are a must for mothers. They cover you up from the top and are long enough to cover your bottom. SO comfortable.

Outfit #2:

This is my running around outfit for the day. Lunch with my husband, grocery shopping, and a haircut for my youngest. I couldn't decide on shoes... they all three work in my book.
American Eagle lounge tee. Kiki La Rue Skinny Jeans. Amazima necklace, Flip flops from Buckle:10 years ago.

Same outfit with Toms.

Again with monogrammed Converse.
(Shout out to my 4 year old for taking these pictures!)

I went with the flip flops. I am a flip flop girl... I really don't need any other shoes but I like having options.

Outfit 3:

I am spending the 4th at my sister's house celebrating my neice's 2nd birthday party. The kids will be in the kiddie pool. We will be outside all night, cookout, and fireworks.

I took note that everytime I meet up with one of my younger, single friends... they wore some sort of oversized white t-shirt with something awesome... a really cute boot, a flannel button down, awesome crazy curly hair.
My favorite purchase of the year is probably this white tee that cost 4.88 at Wal-Mart. It did shrink some in the dryer so I am due for another.. this time I will go one size larger.

So this is me trying to be hip, a little festive, and super comfy.

Link to monogrammed Converse above.

Ignore that one short leg is rolled up more than the other... if your a mom.. your shorts will probably look the same way. ;)

Tee is from Wal-Mart. Shorts are a favorite from Old Navy.
If you are way cooler than me... take your white tank and do something really cute, festive, and hip with it.. here are some ideas!
